Purnell Alumnae

Nearly 20 Purnellies and company convened on the Pottersville campus for the fourth Visitor's Day since the School closed - just to keep our presence alive! This year saw a higher turnout of younger (post-2000) alumnae, a couple from the 40th reunion class of 1985, a sprinkling of those in between, and several former faculty (FF). Three cheers for the New Jersey locals who showed up to "maintain our claim" on the Pottersville campus - and especially to Maria & Penn Bowditch and Elizabeth Bugliari, who were there to welcome everyone to the event.

It was a HOT June day in the Pottersville valley, so the dining room proved cooler than the terrace to check in before heading off on self-guided tours with Pingry key fobs, including through Custis dorm (the campus is largely a place for residential Pingry faculty, now), the library and classroom building, theatre, art center, and Main. Like last year, refreshments were coffee, cold beverages and some pastry from 10-12 noon. There was time for a group photo and short presentation from Bonner Boynton '91, who spoke about Universal Promise, the non-profit we support.

We will publicize next year's Visitor's Day date when we know it, hoping again for the June weekend that is NOT Father's Day, but we have to work with the Pingry calendar folks.
